Geocache Description:

A 2-stage multicache for kayakers, with a moderate tree climb at the end.  From put in to take out it is 8.5 miles.  You'll encounter class I and II rapids for half of it, then flat water for the rest.  Take out area requires a portage.

More info on the journey can be found on the Herding Herons cache page, which is the same paddle.  I guess it could be the slowest cache series ever placed (triannually?)  Check back in 2024.  Anyway, when I placed the gauge was only at 3 feet and it was still a blast.

Stage 1 is a metal tag with a three digit number.  I have added a spoiler pic to the gallery; the contour lines are very close together here, and you need to leave your kayak.

To calculate the final coordinates, multiply that number by 51.58 for North; multiply by 26.98 for West.

Our spirit animal for this trip was an enormous bald eagle that swooped over us several times, alighting in a few dead trees for us to gaze at him.  There's a wealth of other wildlife and pleasant beaches to visit along the way.

The final is in a fantastic climbing tree, lots of footholds.  It isn't "insane" high but you will get a decent view.

Absolutely no night caching
