This cache has been in place (so to speak) since 2002'
With winter coming on I thought I'd place a series of virtual caches. This is the first. (VC#1)
This huge limestone rock in the Maumee River was used as a gathering place for Native Americans. The French also had a settlement here in the 1700's with the same name. Chief Little Turtle gathered his braves here in 1774 before the Battle of Fallen Timbers. (see my cache "Little Turtle" )
There is an Ohio Historical Marker here. In the lower right hand corner of the marker is a four digit number.
To record this cache e-mail me the number on the marker. If you post any pictures of the sign, please don't let the number show. If you have a digital camera, please take a picture of yourself or group with the rock in the background.
