Geocache Description:

This geocache will take you by the old Mule Rock at Line Creek Nature Area. It's an interesting carving, located in an interesting park. Line Creek has a rich history. Native Americans used to inhabit these lands, and there were also some skirmishes fought here during the Civil War. You can even see the old bridge from that period.

This is a fairly straightforward cache, and I'd recommend it for anyone doing their first multi. You might want to take a picture of the map at the entrance. The first set of coordinates will take you to the Mule Rock carving. If you need help, follow the signs for the Ridge Trail and then follow the red blazes to the Mule Rock. There is a sign next to the rock with the year it was carved. The code for the second stage is the year that the rock was carved.

Once you know the year, follow the creek downstream. You should see the old civil war bridge. It'll eventually feed into lake McIntosh. Continue going until you reach the secondary golf cart parking. There is a small lockbox attached to the map board there, use the year you found earlier to open the cache. It's just big enough for a logbook. BYOP.

It's about a 2 mile hike round-trip.

This cache was placed on Memorial Day 2021, and is dedicated to all who served our country. It was also placed with permission of Southern Conservation Trust.
