ONE IN A SERIES OF LIGHTHOUSE CACHES.
For a comprehensive history of this and all LHs in NB pick up a copy of the book
'Lighthouses of New Brunswick: Past & Present'.
17 kms to the end of Red Head Rd (how appropriate!) you will find the Cape Spencer Lighthouse. Just a modern fiberglass tower now, you will see a number of old concrete foundations, evidence that this was once an important lightstation. It is one of 68 authentic towers remaining in NB.
From the lighthouse follow any of the trails down toward the point. Container is a camouflaged plastic jar.
If you continue as far as you can along the trail you will see an unusual rock just off shore and several pure white quartz rocks in the cliff side (I actually climbed these looking for a spot but thought better of trying to kill my fellow cachers). A gorgeous spot along the beautiful Fundy coast.
AS ALWAYS, PLEASE LEAVE THE CACHE AS WELL OR BETTER HIDDEN THAN YOU FOUND IT
