Carlton-le-Moorland War Memorial is a Grade II listed structure, achieving the status on 17 June 1986.
At the annual parish meeting in 1919, it was decided to erect a lychgate as a memorial to the men of the village who fought during the war. It was unveiled at a service of dedication in October 1920. The lychgate was built by J & T Pask of neighbouring Stapleford for a cost of £174.
It bears brass plaques on one side to the men who never returned and on the church side, to the men who did return.
This lychgate is a fine example of a war memorial and in my opinion the best example in the local area.
