Geocache Description:

Fort Saint Frederic was built by the French in 1734 at the narrows between Crown Point and Chimney Point in order to control trade within the waterways between New France and Albany. The fort was composed of six bastions and a citadel, an eight-sided building heavily armed with cannon. The British attempted four times over a twenty-five period to capture the fort; finally succeeding in 1759 by sending 14,000 troops!

The French knew they were outnumbered, detonated the citadel, and retreated north - what remains are the rubble of the structure. The prize you seek is within this area. You do not need to and should not climb on or move any rocks. The regular-sized container is clearly visible from the right angle.

This cache is part of the 2021 New York State Saratoga/Capital District Regional Geocache Challenge!
