Os Marretas

Série de televisão norte-americana criada por Jim Henson, em 1976. Intitulada originalmente The Muppet Show, tinha por cenário um teatro de "vaudeville" onde atuavam bonecos felpudos que depois eram arrasados por comentários sarcásticos de dois velhos rezingões instalados nos camarotes.

Entre os marretas, contavam-se Gonzo, um estranho animal de bico curvo que, quase sempre, aparecia esmurrado contra a parede; o urso Fozzie, cuja imagem de marca eram as piadas infelizes; e os mais famosos sapo Cocas (o contrarregra do teatro) e a porca Miss Piggy. Os dois últimos formavam um par romântico: ela tinha um fraquinho por ele, mas ele fugia dela a sete pés.

Em todos os episódios, havia um convidado de carne e osso, tendo passado pelo programa diversos artistas famosos dos EUA.

Enorme sucesso mundial, a série estrearia em Portugal na RTP em março de 1979, tornando-se um clássico da televisão.

Passou para o cinema em 1979 com a longa-metragem The Muppet Movie (As Aventuras dos Marretas), a que se seguiram The Great Muppet Caper (1981), The Muppets Take Manhattan (Os Marretas Conquistam Nova Iorque, 1984), The Muppet Christmas Carol (O Conto de Natal dos Marretas, 1992), The Muppet Treasure Island (Os Marretas na Ilha do Tesouro, 1996) e Muppets From Space (1999).

Em 2004, as célebres personagens da série passaram a fazer parte da Disney.

The Muppet Show

North American television series created by Jim Henson, in 1976. Originally titled The Muppet Show, it set in a "vaudeville" theater where plush puppets acted, which were then razed by sarcastic comments from two old reporters installed in the cabins.

Among the mallets were Gonzo, a strange curved-billed animal that, almost always, appeared pummeled against the wall; the Fozzie bear, whose trademark was unfortunate jokes; and the most famous Cocas frog (the playwright of the theater) and the Miss Piggy sow. The last two were a romantic couple: she had a soft spot for him, but he ran away from her seven feet away.

In all the episodes, there was a guest of flesh and blood, having passed through the program several famous artists from the USA.

Huge worldwide success, the series premiered in Portugal on RTP in March 1979, becoming a television classic.

He moved to the cinema in 1979 with the feature film The Muppet Movie (The Muppet Adventures), followed by The Great Muppet Caper (1981), The Muppets Take Manhattan (The Muppets Conquer New York, 1984), The Muppet Christmas Carol (The Mallets' Christmas Carol, 1992), The Muppet Treasure Island (1996).

In 2004, the famous characters of the series became part of Disney.
