Estrada Nova da Rainha
Esta, sem dúvida, é uma das mais belas estradas da Serra de Sintra, embora tenha vários nomes associados será o mais acertado o de Estrada Nova da Rainha, pois foi mandada construir pelo Marquês de Pombal durante o reinado de D. JoséI e deve ter sido o seu primeiro nome.
Passa pela Quinta da Regaleira, Palácio de Seteais, Palácio de Monserrate, entre outras quintas e palacetes.
Várias fontes serviam para matar a sede de quem a percorria, hoje em dia poucas têm água corrente.
A vista desta estrada, em certos pontos, é magnífica e convida a longas pausas.
No verão, enquanto do lado sul da serra se abafa com o calor, nesta estrada o fresco está sempre presente e no inverno os musgos tomam conta dos muros, das bermas e até da estrada.
Vale bem a visita! Aliás, como toda a Serra de Sintra e arredores.

“Copia de Avizo que no anno de 1773 foi ao provedor de Torre Vedras para auxiliar Bento Dias na abertura da estrada pello caminho da Serra de Sintra e Collares. Sendo prezente a El rey Meu Senhor a petição incluza de *Bento Dias Pereira Chaves reprezentando a incapacidade e ruina em que actualmente se achão os Caminhos da Villa de Collares e a grande utilidade que se seguirá aos moradores da mesma Villa e a extracção dos seus fructos, de se ampliar, e abrir huma boa estrada pello caminho da Serra............
