**** WARNING ****
The access to this cache is down a bank and through vegetation/ brambles. One cacher said “ this is possibly the worst scramble I have had to do to find a cache!!!”
Personally I’ve done much worse but if your idea of caching doesn’t involve these things then you may prefer to skip this one

The views from this location are good and excellent from the top of the monument (which opens somewhat erratically).
The monument was built in honour of General Lord Robert Somerset in 1846 who fought with Wellington in the Napoleonic Wars. He was a younger son of the 5th Duke of Beaufort and the monument was built here by workers from the family seat, Badminton House. More information about the monument can be found at this web site.
This cache is an ammo box which has been well concealed slightly off the usual path. You'll need long trousers in most seasons to get to the cache. When replacing the cache please ensure it is hidden as much as possible.
There are places to park just a few hundred yards from the cache, next to the monument, from which you can admire both the monument and the views.
Please check out the Geocaching Association of Great Britain offering support for Geocachers in GB.
