Old McDonald had a CITO Cache In Trash Out Event

This cache has been archived.

TTFNCachn: It turned out to be a perfect day for CITO. I was looking long and hard for one that fit my schedule. I finally broke down and created my own. Unfortunately, my body told me I wasn't able to go. I am glad so many did. Thanks to Starkacher for stepping up to help in my absence. Hopefully another one will follow soon.

Geocache Description:

15 May 2021, 10:00 - 12:00

Welcome to Keil Farm, Lucas County Metroparks newest aquizition of property. It doesn't look like a park now, but in approximately 5 years, it will boast miles of walking paths, bridges, streams, trees, flowers, bushes and many places to hide new geocaches. For now though, it is many acres of farm land in desperate need of a cleanup.

For years I have been looking for an opportunity to find a CITO in my area that didn't require walking up and down a roadway. It does have it's purpose, but for smaller cachers it isn't safe. Part of the CITO experience is to help teach cachers of all sizes the importance of keeping this game board we know as Earth clean. A few emails went out to the Metroparks to find out they have a volunteer program design specificly for help around the many properties they have. At there request, this is the area that needs the most help.

Metroparks staff will be on site from 10am untill noon. They will have supplies to help clean up the trash and take it off property, however if you want to bring your own gloves and tools, I doubt there will be any complaints. There is allot of property here so work at your own pace. Some can walk the fields, others around the structure. Being an old farm, please dress accordingly, it may be muddy. This is open to cachers of all sizes and shapes. Please post a Will Attend with your group size and ages of any cachers in training you may bring, so this can be communicated with the parks. Come out to help out a new park grown
