The Silverlake Cache is not so much about what is here now but
about what used to be here.
Erlanger was the home of my mother’s family. They lived back off
Crescent Avenue on a farm on Silver Lake. The farm is long gone as
is the lake. All that remains is a park built on and named for
Silver Lake.
You start your cache hunt at the Erlanger Depot where, years
ago, almost everyone arrived in Erlanger. No passenger trains stop
here now and it is now the city's historical museum.
The actual cache site is a short drive or walk (0.6 mile)away
from the depot. The park is located on Division just north of
Crescent. The cache container is a standard size ammo box with a
Geocaching label.
3 clues from the depot are needed to solve the puzzle to
the cache location.
The Erlanger sign on the depot says it is 9.A miles to CIN
(Cincinnati)
The Brick marking the Time Capsule buried near the flogpole was
dedicated in Sept. 199B
The Erlanger sign on the depot says it is 32C.3 miles to CHA
(Chattanooga)
The cache is located at
N39 01.5A9 W084 35.6BC
