Cyrus laid a trap for Tomyris's army. Cyrus made a camp, full of tents, food and barrels of wine and defended by only a few, weaker defenders. Tomyris's army, led by her son, attacked and soon took over the camp. They believed they were victorious and celebrated by eating and drinking all night. Obviously, they fell asleep, and that is when Cyrus's real army came to attack and night. They defeated the sleeping troops and took Tomyris's son as a hostage.
There are 6 Tomyris Trail Geocaches in Central Park from the Haileybury Humanities department. Enjoy. It´s a beautiful place to go, stroll around find a geocache, and then have a tea or snack by the pond. I´m sure Tomyris (And Cyrus the Great) would love it here.
