La lande serpentinite est rare et spéciale dans la Monde (mais 4 petit endroits comme ca en 87!).
Je les connais tous très bien. C'est là que je vois Engoulevent la nuit et Vipère par temps ensoleillé.
Ne vous inquiétez pas, ils ont plus peur de vous que vous. Honnête.

Les sentiers sont bien balisés et assez faciles.
Peut devenir boueux après la pluie.
Arrêtez-vous et lisez Les Carnets d'Arsonval le long du parcours.

Please treat this as an Earthcache, even though it isn't. You'll learn a lot.
Serpentine Heathland is very rare. The Lizard in Cornwall is the largest area in The World. There's a bit in Crete.
However we have 4 places in Dept 87 where Serpentine Rock comes to the surface to provide an unusual habitat for wildlife.
The same vein of rock as Lizard & Crete.
It's special. Very special.
It's where I see Nightjar at night & both species of Adder during the day.
And certain specialist birds (Hen Harrier especially), insects, amphibs & other reptiles.
Don't worry - they're more scared of you than you are of them. Honest.
The cache is easy to find so you do not need to disturb the environment.
The cache leads you to the beginning of a magnif location & it is not well known.
The paths are rugged, well signposted, worn and easy enough to follow the arrows.
Can be muddy in places after rain.
