The main entrance to the Paine Property is off of Maple Road in Easton, CT. There is ample parking space in the public lot at the end of the entrance road.
The Paine Property is a beautiful piece of land that is maintained by the Aspetuck Land Trust. From the parking lot, go right, up the hill on the yellow trail. The yellow-blazed trail then intersects with a red-blazed trail. The cache is hidden in a green ammo box in the cleft of a rock. There is also a flat rock covering the opening to the cache's resting place.
We started the cache off with a log book and pencil, two Buffalo/ Indian Head Nickels, one Sacagewea Dollar, one small pocket knife, one skateboard keychain, one penlight, one Danish five Kroner piece, a two Peso coin, and one stuffed toy chipmunk.
