In April of 1856 seven year old Joseph Cox and five year old George Cox wandered away from their parents home in Spruce Hollow, Pennsylvania and perished due to exposure. A few nights later Jacob Dybert, a farmer living on the other side of Blue Knob Mountain, had the the first of three identical dreams. For three nights in a row he dreamt that he was walking through an unfamiliar section of forest and found the bodies of the boys at the foot of a tree. Compelled by his dream Jacob and his brother in law retraced the steps that Jacob had taken in his dream. Remarkably they found the boy’s bodies where they lay huddled beneath a tree.
In 1901 local residents erected a memorial in the forest where the children were found. Some people say they can sometimes hear the sound of children playing in the woods near the Cox Monument in Pavia.

Your task, if you dare, find the cache hidden in the woods near the Cox Monument.
I have lived in Pennsylvania most of my life and am quite use to the remoteness of this area, however I was somewhat surprised by the remoteness of this location. Not just the location of the Cox Monument but the remoteness of the town of Pavia. The first time I went to place the cache it was foggy and I was so deep in the forest that my GPS didn't even work. The following day was partly cloudy but I returned and was able to place the cache.
To find the cache go to the town of Pavia, Pennsylvania, near Blue Knob State Park. Head west on route 869 until you see the “The Lost Children of the Alleghenies” sign at:
N 40° 15.81'
W 78° 35.38'
Turn right on this one lane road and drive 2.5 miles into the forest to the parking area at:
N 40° 17.626'
W 78° 36.18'
The cache is located at the coordinates give above for this waypoint.
There is a definite theme to this cache. It contains "old children's toys".
