Aldeia (do árabe الضيعة ad-Dai'hâ) é uma povoação, normalmente rural, com poucos habitantes, isto é, um aglomerado populacional de categoria inferior à vila, podendo dispor de autonomia administrativa e de economia de subsistência (não exporta o excedente da economia, consumindo tudo), sendo geralmente satélite de uma vila, onde a população geralmente costuma trabalhar na sua economia.
Uma aldeia pode ser composta por vários lugares.
Monte João Dias, é uma aldeia abandonada situando-se geograficamente a sul da Vila de Mação e pertence à União das Freguesias de Mação, Penhascoso e Aboboreira.
Permite ao viajante recuar no tempo e desfrutar de uma magnifica vista sobre o Vale da Ribeira do Coadouro

Village (from Arabic الضيعة ad-Dai'hâ) is a settlement, usually rural, with few inhabitants, i.e., a population cluster of lower rank than a town, which may have administrative autonomy and subsistence economy (it does not export the surplus of the economy, consuming everything), and is usually a satellite of a town, where the population usually works in its economy.
A village can be composed of several places.
Monte João Dias, is an abandoned village situated geographically to the south of the town of Mação and belongs to the Union of Freguesias of Mação, Penhascoso and Aboboreira.
It allows the traveler to go back in time and enjoy a magnificent view over the Ribeira do Coadouro Valley.
