As fronteiras representam muito mais do que uma (mera) divisão e unificação dos pontos diversos, determinando também a área territorial* precisa de um país, a sua base física. Podem ser naturais, geométricas ou arbitrárias; sendo delimitações territoriais e políticas que, através da proteção que garante aos seus estados, representa a autonomia e a soberania desses perante os outros.
Deste notável ponto de visão que se situa no Concelho de Mação, no distrito de Santarém, os territórios a Norte do outro lado da albufeira da Barragem da Pracana, pertencem ao geopark NATURTEJO, concelho de Proênça-a-Nova, no distrito de Castelo Branco. A Este, os territórios que se avistam, localizam-se após o Rio Tejo, pertencem ao Concelho de Nisa, no distrito de Portalegre.

Borders represent much more than a (mere) division and unification of diverse points, also determining the precise territorial area* of a country, its physical base. They can be natural, geometric or arbitrary; being territorial and political delimitations that, through the protection they guarantee to their states, represent their autonomy and sovereignty before others.
From this remarkable viewpoint that is located in the Municipality of Mação, in the district of Santarém, the territories to the north on the other side of the reservoir of the Pracana Dam, belongs to the NATURTEJO geopark, municipality of Proênça-a-Nova, in the district of Castelo Branco. To the east, the territories that can be seen, located after the Tagus River, belong to the municipality of Nisa, in the district of Portalegre.
