This cache has been archived.

oboegary & delaware hiker: Thanks to all who worked hard. We had lots and lots of trash from various places all directions from GZ. It was so nice to have time to visit, too.

Geocache Description:

13 March 2021, 09:00 - 10:30

There are many places not far from here that need our help to clean up even during the public health situation. Since Maryland and surrounding states still have health guidelines restricting group activities, geocachers MUST comply with the following:

  • Attending this CITO means we agree to follow state and local COVID-19 guidelines including changes occuring up to the event day
  • Social distance 6 feet or more from those not in your household
  • Follow mask guidelines as required wherever you pick up trash. Masks must be worn correctly if you are unable to social distance 6 feet or more
  • Stagger arrival and tell the COs where you plan to work so we can space appropriately (or message us through geocaching.com)
  • After saying "Hello" to others, please proceed to your chosen spot
  • Bring a safety vest if you have one and are working along a roadway
  • Optional: Post a photo of your results (requested with your Attended log, but not required)

Suggested places to pick up trash include:

  1. C&D Canal Parking on the North side of the canal (see waypoint under the bridge
  2. C&D Canal in Maryland - North side or South side
  3. Your choice of a spot that needs TLC

Required:
Bring your own trash bag and gloves and a grabber if desired. Bring sanitizer for afterwards. We hope you commit to 45-60 minutes of work, but all are on the honor system.
Each CITO geocacher should plan on taking their trash bag(s) for proper disposal, maybe in your own trash can. If you need assistance, plan ahead with the COs. We don't have the resources to dispose of tires, dangerous or large items at this time.

Heavy rain may cause this event to be postponed to the following day. Accumulating snow may cause this to be postponed to the following Saturday. The COs will notify those planning to attend.

There will be a CITO souvenier badge available from Geocaching Headquarters for events attended Mar 1 - May 31.
