The Squirrel Nutkin Geocache GC363 was placed in Oakwoods Metropark on February 24, 2001 by Jeff and Denise. This Meet and Greet event is being held to celebrate the early history of geocaching in Michigan. It will also provide an opportunity for old friends as well as new geocachers to meet socially.
This is an outdoor even which will be held in the small picnic area just west of the Oakwoods Metropark Nature center parking lot.
The event starts at 1:00 PM. If you plan to attend please register by sending WILL ATTEND LOG. If you discover that you can't attend please let us know so we can give your slot to someone else. Our limit is 25.
This gathering will be held in compliance with current Michigan's COVID-19 rules. Participants are expected to wear a mask and maintain the 6 foot social distancing while in the event area.
After the event participants will be provided with the opportunity to go look for six cousins of Squirrel Nutkin. ( Six new caches placed nearby in Oakwoods Metropark and will be published later that day.)
Celia, Maizie, and Willow are disappointed that they will not be able to attend because dogs are not allowed in that section of Oakwoods.

This cache is located within Oakwoods Metropark, a part of the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority park system. A Metropark Vehicle Entry Permit is required: Annual Permit $40. Senior(62+) Permit $29. Daily Permit $10.
