Each year the SA geocaching community comes together to recognise the best caches of the previous year at the SA Geocaching Awards (SAGA) event. Save the date so you can join the fun and support the hiders who have been nominated.
The 2020 SAGA awards will be held on Sunday 28 March 2021, from 2pm to 5pm at Linde Reserve (corner of Payneham Rd/Nelson St, St Peters).
Bring a chair or take a seat on the grass and enjoy the sausage sizzle courtesy of the committee (please post your ‘Will Attend’ so we know approximate numbers). The awards will again be presented “Academy” style by volunteers from the caching community, so let the committee know if you’re happy to present.
Awards are decided by the SA Geocaching community who first nominate and then vote on their favourite caches placed in 2020. This year’s award categories are:
• Best overall cache of 2020
• Best traditional cache
• Best multi cache
• Best unknown/puzzle cache
• Best event
• Best earthcache
• Best letterbox hybrid
• Best wherigo
• Best regular container
• Best large container
• Best virtual or lab cache adventure
• Best new series
• Best brain teaser (real puzzles of at least 3 star)
• Most adventurous cache (must be over 3.5 star terrain rating)
• Best cache hider of the year
