I wanted to go see the 'Big Rock'. I did, now it’s your turn.
A Spokane County Nature Conservation area
http://www.spokanecounty.org/parks/conservation.htm#Iller
This site gave me an area to approach it from. Most every other way in I found was private and/or gated. The website also tells of some restrictions for the area.
There are no signs, parking is extremely limited. Once you’re there, count on uphill all the way. Two or three variations in the trails, that I could see, for getting to the cache. 1.7 miles from the parking area to the cache. (for the proverbial crow, but you’re not that lucky) No need to bushwhack. Approximate 1100 ft. elevation gain, more than I expected. Oh well. Could be done with a mountain bike, but not by me.
Depending on the trail(s) used, there are some nice views of the Valley, the Liberty Lake area, and farmland to the south.
Ammo can, in a clump of rocks.
