Vesnice Vránov se rozkládá na levém břehu řeky Radbuzy, 2 km západně od Staňkova. První písemné zmínky jsou z roku 1379 v krajských archivech. Píše se tam o obci Wranow, jméno vsi údajně vzniklo podle převládajících příjmení obyvatel Vran, Vraný a Vrána. Kolem roku 1450 připadal Vranov k panství a tvrzi Hlohová, po roku 1543 byla ves prodána Bohuslavovi Vidršpergárovi.
Další záznamy se týkají roku 1654, kdy již obec Vráňovo patří pod panství v Horšovském Týně a ves obývají převážně sedláci a chalupníci. Posledními majiteli vsi a přilehlých pozemků, polností a lesů byli Trautmansdorfové z Horšovského Týna. Tehdy se tato ves podle starých dochovaných map jmenovala Franowa.
Zajímavý je také záznam v kronice z prosince roku 1930, kdy probíhalo sčítání obyvatel. Podle něj ve vesnici žilo 240 obyvatel, 236 Čechů a 4 Němci. Mezi obytaveli byla zastoupena skoro všechna řemesla potřebná pro život na vsi - sedláci, zedníci, tesaři, dělníci, kočí, obchodníci, kováři, učitelé, hostinští, truhláři a mlynáři. Dnes má vesnice něco málo pod 150 obyvatel.

The village of Vránov is located on the left bank of the river Radbuza, 2 km west of Staňkov. The first written mentions are from 1379 in the regional archives. It says about the village of Wranow, the name of the village allegedly originated from the predominant surnames of the inhabitants of Vran, Vraný and Vrána. Around 1450, Vranov belonged to the estate and fortress of Hlohová, after 1543 the village was sold to Bohuslav Vidršpergár.
Other records relate to 1654, when the village of Vráňovo already belongs to the estate in Horšovské Týn and the village is inhabited mainly by farmers and cottagers. The last owners of the village and the adjacent land, fields and forests were the Trautmansdorfs from Horšovské Týn. At that time, this village was called Franowa according to old surviving maps.
The record in the chronicle from December 1930, when the census took place, is also interesting. According to him, the village had 240 inhabitants, 236 Czechs and 4 Germans. Among the dwellers were represented almost all the crafts needed for life in the village - farmers, bricklayers, carpenters, workers, coachmen, merchants, blacksmiths, teachers, innkeepers, carpenters and millers. Today the village has just under 150 inhabitants.

Das Dorf Vránov liegt am linken Ufer des Flusses Radbuza, 2 km westlich von Staňkov. Die ersten schriftlichen Erwähnungen stammen aus dem Jahr 1379 im Regionalarchiv. Es spricht über das Dorf Wranow, der Name des Dorfes stammte angeblich aus den vorherrschenden Nachnamen der Einwohner von Vran, Vraný und Vrána.
