Geocache Description:

Church Micro - 4180 The Parish church of St. Mary, Eastwood.

Church History -There has been a church on this site in Eastwood since the 13th Century and stone from the original building can still be seen as part of a wall near the church as it stands today.

In 1963 the church was almost completely destroyed by fire started by some schoolboys and, apart from the tower which was saved, the current church building was rebuilt with modern brick, concrete and glass from a design by architects Royle and Whitethorn of Nottingham.  The church was consecrated by the Bishop of Southwell on 23rd September 1967.

The cache  - You are looking for a rock by the gate.
