Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) announcement for 2020
In partnership with the Carson City Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Division, there will be a CITO® event on Lone Mountain in Carson City on Saturday, October 24th from 9-11 am. Participants will be removing trash along the trail that traverses Lone Mountain. The trail is approximately a half-mile long extending south from the trailhead parking lot and ending just north of the Lone Mountain Cemetery. Please meet in the parking lot at the listed coordinates (Northridge Dr just east of Roop St) to sign the logbook as well as signing the city's waiver for volunteer events. A Park Ranger will be present during the sign-in. You can pick up trash bags at the sign-in table, but due to concerns surrounding the spread of COVID-19, you will need to bring your own gloves. In accordance with the Governor's directives, please wear masks and practice social distancing while in the parking lot where people may be congregated. It is recommended to wear long pants and closed-toed shoes. Please return all filled trash bags to the trailhead parking lot where Park Rangers will gather them and take them to the dump for us.
