Come and celebrate our milestones together in this Community Celebration Event. And feel free to mention any milestones you will be marking in your RSVP - mine will be my 3rd anniversary since joining!
There will be the following activities/features:
*A giant Logbook to sign;
*Trackable tree to make travel bug swaps;
*From 2:30 cupcakes to decorate with your milestone - and to be photographed of course (please PM me if you want me to include special dietary needs, I will do my best but I'm not a professional baker). Photo at 3pm;
*At 3:15 cache swap - If you would like to participate please construct a cache container of any size that meets guidelines (I.e. waterproof, durable, and contains a new logbook, see https://www.geocaching.com/play/hide) and is wrapped to be a surprise. We can draw participant names out of a hat and they can get a cache to hide luck dip style. And let's agree to hide them within a month;
*3:45 a Milestone scavenger hunt, with a Trackable to go to the first one to meet and get signatures from fellow Geocachers on the scavenger hunt list;
*Feel free to bring afternoon tea and if you plan to bring something to share please make sure it's individually wrapped;
*There is a nearby cafe for tea and coffee, or a few good places nearby to stop before arrival. However if someone can bring a gas burner and kettle I'm happy to provide tea, coffee, sugar and milk. But please BYO cup;
*nearby playground for the Geokids;
*other activities may be included based on suggestions or as inspiration strikes.
All times are approximate! The event has been planned for the afternoon to avoid competition for parking at the location as it's popular for sports fixtures and children's parties. As people like to find caches together around events, why not plan to find them beforehand and finish up at the event? Feel free to indicate your interest below and PM others who may be coming from the same location as you.
As always, please remember to slip, slop, slap. There is some cover at GZ, but we may not all get shade.
