Let's have a DOUBLE Celebration! Community Celebration Event

This cache has been archived.

xxxVCxxx: Now that everyone has logged their attendance and the TBs/Geocoins have been removed, it’s time to archive the event. THANK YOU SO MUCH to all the people who attended, including those who are part of a team, resulting in approximately 50 people attending, over the 32 logged attendees - definitely my best attended event 😎

Geocache Description:

05 September 2021, 11:00 - 13:00

Let's have a DOUBLE Celebration!

Community Celebration Events were generated last year to celebrate 20 years of geocaching. However, these were postponed to be held this year. This year, as I am celebrating a milestone birthday of my own, why not have a double celebration?!

Experienced and new geocachers are more than welcome to join in with the celebrations!

When: Sunday 5th September 2021

Time11am - 1pm. However, the venue is more than happy for us to stay for longer, so I have reserved the area until 3pm, but as I have listed the event as 11-1pm, It's entirely up to you how long you stay after the official end time.

WhereThe Beech House, 16 Hill Avenue, Amersham, Buckinghamshire, HP6 5BW.

Food and drinks menu:

The menu does cater for vegetarians and vegans, and will also check for allergies and will offer a gluten-free menu. Feel free to look at the food menu here. There are additional Set Menus and Buffet Menus attached to the Announcement on 27th August 2021. Please use these for additional reference.

Please bring

Travel Bugs and Geocoins that you wish to move on or be discovered by others;

Puzzles that you may wish to seek help and advice with;

Your geocaching stories to share with others.

Parking:

The closest car parks are listed in the waypoints, and accommodate motocycles. Parking charges may apply. Please check the notice boards when you park your vehicle. All car parks will have disabled parking facilities and are a short walk to the venue.

Public Transport (Trains)

Amersham Train Station is noted in the waypoints and is served by London Underground and National Rail. It is a short walk away from the venue.

London Underground: Amersham is the final stop on the Metropolitan Line.

National Rail / Chiltern Railways: London Marylebone, Harrow-On-The-Hill, Moor Park, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood, Chalfont & Latimer, Great Missenden, Wendover, Stoke Mandeville and Aylesbury.

If you are travelling from Central London, it will be quicker to travel from London Marylebone as it skips half of the train stations on the Metropolitan Line and you can still use your Oyster Card. National Rail Stations towards Aylesbury do not accept Oyster Card Payments.

Public Transport (Buses)

Carousel operate the #1 bus route on Sundays, serving High Wycombe, Holmer Green, Hazlemere, Amersham, Chesham Bois, Chesham, Bovingdon and Hemel Hempstead.  Please refer to their website for bus timetables.

Indoor/Outdoor Venue:

I have reserved an area both indoors AND outdoors, separated by a glass conservatory door, and the manager is more than happy for this to be open during the event for us to mingle both indoors or outside. The outdoor area is under cover. The indoors reserved area has been specifically designed for parties and events, with a partition wall to separate our larger group from those not attending our event. To view the Covid-19 Measures that the venue adhere to, please refer to their website and follow the tab at the top. Here is the link to their website.
