Girraween National Park: A Place of Flowers.
Location - Girraween National Park Day Use Area, Pyramids Road, Girraween.
First, I'd like to honour, acknowledge and respect the Aboriginal Traditional people, to Elders Past, present and Emerging.
As a born and bred Toowoomba-ite, Girraween has a special place in my heart as a place to get-away from it all, breathe, relax, soak up all the nature. And Girraween has a fantastic camping spot (check out: https://qpws.usedirect.com/QPWS/Facilities/SearchView.aspx and search "Girraween National Park) where I have camped with my family many moons ago. More recently, I have successfully found several caches in this area.
On the 22nd of December 2016, in Sydney surburbia, I found my first cache. I have then travelled across the ditch (New Zealand), and much further afield - Hong Kong, United Kingdom, France and Germany. Australia is always home, so here we are! In being Aussie what a better way to celebrate with Mates (and my favourite hobby) then to do so on May 8 - also known as Mate Day.

(As Australia Day is far to hot at this location, this is another reason to be with mates!)
**This is a lunch time event, from 11am to 2pm.
**Please bring your own food, water, snacks. Girraween Day Use area has plenty of shelters, and Barbeque Facilities are available.
**If possible, please bring a fold up chair or blanket, so that we may keep our social distancing! Closest fuel and food is in Stanthorpe. Family, friends, muggles, children are welcome.
**As Girraween is a National Park, no pets allowed.
COVID DETAILS::
If you feel sick in any way (cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue, shortness of breath) - and if you've been overseas - please don't come.
Remember to keep 1.5m distance apart. This is a MUST. No more than 1 person per 4 square metres.
Please bring your own pen to sign the log book - to help with COVID management. You must post a Will Attend so that I can keep track of numbers. If possible - bring your own hand sanitiser to the event (and use it). There are toilets on site as well - and you can wash your hands there. I will endeavour to provide hand sanitiser for this event.
The Log book: the attendee must provide --- Full name, phone number, Email and/or residential address, Date and time of entry and exit time. This is to comply with COVID restrictions.
