Join us to celebrate the 15 year anniversary of the church micro.
By attending this event, you will not only be celebrating 20 years of geocaching and gaining a community celebration icon, but you will also be celebrating 15 years of the church micro and you will gain another church micro find for your statistics - this church micro number can only be obtained by attending a 15 year church micro event. You will be able to add the two below souvenirs to your profile afterwards if you wish (either lift them from here, or html code is available from the church micro website).
This year we are keeping the church micro event simple - it will be held in the appropriately named 'Church Inn' which is directly opposite the The Parish Church of Saint Chad, Saddleworth. This scenic country church is nestled up in the countryside above Uppermill and other than the Church Inn pub opposite, it sits in peaceful isolation.
The venue have allocated Brother Suliman an area of the pub for us to use for the event. The Old Brewhouse, situated at the side of the pub, had been in use as a brewery 150 years ago. It was restored in 1997 and the pub is now independently run by a local brewery offering their own ales, and food is served daily for anyone wishing to eat.
As this is a community celebration event, we will look at the possibility of providing some church based activities, more details may follow. None church related geochat is also encouraged, no religious leaning of any kind is required to attend the event, in most cases people enjoy church micros for the history and architecture associated with the buildings they visit.
