An Adventure Within An Adventure…
While out Geocaching, one sees many wonderous things - scenic vistas, vibrant sunsets, purple mountain majesties and breathtaking views. Unless you are caching in the western U.S. one seldom notices the rocks along the trail. On a recent trip I stopped to examine and collect some of minerals I encountered. When I got home, I took the time to identify and study the stones I collected.
I signed out a book from my local library and set off to work scrutinizing the samples in my backpack. I discovered that I had brought home some onyx, a tiny diamond, fluorite, platinum, sapphire, titanium, graphite and alabaster. This was something that I had not done before but decided that I would do it again soon! It was an interesting and fun experience.
