Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the listed coordinates. This is a Wherigo cache. If you are not familiar with this type of geocache you can read more about it on the Wherigo website, specifically here for information about what a Wherigo is or here for how to use a Wherigo. To log the cache as found you must complete the cartridge (file), find and sign the log. The cache location will be revealed after passing through various zones, and answering simple questions as directed by the wherigo cartridge.

The Wherigo cartridge file can be found here; Last Post in Lissner Park.

To play and find a Wherigo cache, you will need a suitable device, a smart phone with a wherigo app installed or particular models of GPSr. It can be easier to set it up at home rather than in the field.

App Notes -If all you see is a picture scroll down a bit. If you see text in the answer box it is multiple choice. Ignore when the wherigo app says 'scan QR' - thats just confusing in this situation.

Please be aware that during the year differering populations of flying foxes roost in Lissner Park, and sometimes the surrounding areasdevil.

The council may close the park if the bat population is high or being moved. There are areas of the park that have roosting populations that create distinct odours and noise. They are more active at dusk. At the time of placing post 2 was closer to roosts.

This cache is within Lissner Park, this area has been a park since 1883. The Wherigo was set up to follow an information trail about World War 1. You will be guided past multiple information posts which do have QR Codes, (these are separate to the wherigo App). The post QR codes unfurl quite a cascade of information about World War 1 and Charters Towers.

The QR code at the first post links to this website, http://firstworldwar.charterstowers.qld.gov.au/posts/one-tablet.html,

as well as a map and all the other information posts. So you can read in the park or at home. The post information is not essential to completing the Wherigo experience if your device and app is busy.

At the time of hiding the small systema contained a log, pen, army figure, angry birds rings and an unactivated trackable - FTF (with a partriotic flag).

More council info on Lissner Park.

There is in another cache type in this park with even more historyit mostly follows a different path using a different app.
