War Memorial #1193 ~ Furness Vale
The memorial was built in 1921 then unveiled and dedicated on 27th August 1921. It is a small limestone cross on a battered pedestal and base. The small cross is in the style of a Toulouse Cross and has a Tudor Crown carved on its face but has a broadly tapered shaft on a square integral plinth with bevelled top.
The cache is on the opposite side of the road to the memorial. It is next to the very busy A6 so be careful when crossing. There are normally short term parking places available both sides of the A6 towards New Mills.
