200 let KHB Mega-Event Cache

Karel Havlíček Borovský. Novinář, spisovatel, satirik a politik. Zastánce českého národa. Zakladatel moderní české žurnalistiky a nejvýznamnějších českých novin revolučních let 1848-1850. Neúprosný, politicky angažovaný kritik rakouského režimu, osobnost se zásadním vlivem na české veřejné mínění. Jeden z nejvýznamnějších Čechů našich dějin.

Jméno Karla Havlíčka Borovského (31.10.1821 - 29.7.1856) je s Havlíčkovým Brodem neodmyslitelně spojeno. Karel Havlíček se narodil v nedaleké Borové u Přibyslavi, do tehdejšího Německého Brodu se Havlíčkovi stěhovali v roce 1832. Karel tu vystudoval klasické gymnázium a město se mu stalo jeho jediným opravdovým domovem, kam se mnohokrát ze svých životních cest vracel. V Havlíčkově domě dnes sídlí Muzeum Vysočiny se stálou expozicí věnovanou této mimořádné osobnosti.

Odkaz KHB je na jeden krátký lidský život skutečně mimořádný. Jeho nebojácná politická angažovanost v revolučních letech 1848-1849 je obdivuhodná a kdo si někdy přečetl alespoň nějaký text, tak pochopí, proč byl Rakouským císařstvím tak nenáviděný a proč z něj měl režim takový strach. Více než tři roky dokázal odolávat vládním nařízením vytvořeným jemu "na míru". Když mu v roce 1850 zakázali vydávat úspěšné Národní noviny, které v roce 1848 v Praze sám založil, nezlomil se a odešel do Kutné Hory. Tady ve své odbojné činnosti pokračoval další rok v novém časopisu Slovan.

Na konci roku 1851, v předvečer nastupujícího bachovského absolutismu byl soudním nařízením deportován do Brixenu. Měl tak Čechům zmizet z očí a ti na něj měli zapomenout. Ale nezapomněli. Jeho pohřeb v roce 1856 se stal protirakouskou manifestací.

Nesmazatelný odkaz nám zanechal i ve svém literárním díle. Epištoly kutnohorské, Obrazy z Rus, Tyrolské elegie, Král Lávra, Křest svatého Vladimíra. Určitě znáte, že? Pro školní čítanky trochu obtížné texty, ale my dospělí bychom jim porozumět měli. A co teprve epigramy, ty krátké a břitké verše? Mnohé z nich nám mají co říct dodnes. Třeba ten úplně nejznámější: "Moje barva červená a bílá, dědictví mé poctivosť a síla!"

V roce 2021 oslavíme 200. výročí narození KHB a na Havlíčkobrodsku se k tomuto významnému datu chystá řada akcí. Rád bych k oslavám osobnosti KHB, které si nesmírně vážím, také přispěl. Srdečně si vás všechny - veleváženou geocachingovou veřejnost - dovoluji tímto pozvat do Havlíčkova Brodu, abychom Havlíčkovy dvousté narozeniny oslavili společně. Moc bych si přál, aby to byla oslava skutečně důstojná a aby se nám podařilo zorganizovat geocachingovou akci, jaká se na Vysočině dosud nekonala.-)

Karel Havlíček Borovský. Journalist, writer, satirist and politician. Czech nation defender. Founder of modern Czech journalism and the most important Czech newspaper of the revolutionary years 1848 – 1850. A relentless, politically engaged critic of Austrian regime, a person with a significant impact on Czech public opinion. One of the most important Czechs of our history.

The name of Karel Havlíček Borovský (31.10.1821 - 29.7.1856) is inseparably connected with the town Havlíčkův Brod. Karel Havlíček was born in the nearby village Borová close to the town Přibyslav, the Havlíček family moved to the town at the time called Německý Brod in 1832. Karel finished the classical gymnasium (=grammar/high school) here, and the town became his only true home where he always came back from his life’s journeys. The Vysočina Museum is based in Havlíček’s house nowadays. There is a permanent exhibition dedicated to this exceptional person.

The KHB’s legacy is truly extraordinary in comparison with his short life. His courageous political commitment in the revolutionary years 1848-1849 is admirable and anyone who has ever read a text will understand why he was so hated by the Austrian Empire and why the regime was so scared of him. For more than three years he was able to resist the government regulations that were “tailor-made” for him. He did not break down when the successful Národní noviny (“National Newspaper”) that he founded in 1848 in Prague was banned from publishing in 1850, and left for Kutná Hora. He continued his rebellious activity in the new magazine Slovan for another year there.

Karel Havlíček was deported to Brixen by court order at the end of 1851, on the eve of the incoming Bach’s absolutism. He was supposed to disappear from the sights of the Czechs and they were supposed to forget about him. However, they did not forget. His funeral in 1856 grew into an anti-Austrian demonstration.

He left unforgettable legacy in his work. Kutná Hora Epistles (Epištoly kutnohorské), Pictures from Russia (Obrazy z Rus), The Tyrolean Elegies (Tyrolské elegie), King Lavra (Král Lávra), The Baptism of Saint Vladimir (Křest svatého Vladimíra). You know them, don’t you. A little bit difficult texts for school reading-books, however, we adults should understand them. And what about epigrams, those short and trenchant lines? Many of them have something to say even nowadays. For instance the well-known: "Moje barva červená a bílá, dědictví mé poctivosť a síla!" (“My colour is red and white, my legacy is my honesty and strength!”).

We are going to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the birth of KHB in 2021 and there are going to be held a lot of events in the Havlíčkův Brod Region on the occasion of this significant date. I would like to contribute to the celebrations of KHB who I admire immensely. I invite you all cordially – dear geocaching public – to the town Havlíčkův Brod to celebrate Havlíček’s 200th birthday together. I wish that the celebration is truly dignified and that we manage to organise a geocaching event that has not been organised in the Vysočina Region yet.-)

Karel Havlíček Borovský. Journalist, Schriftsteller, Satiriker und Politiker. Verfechter der tschechischen Nation. Gründer der modernen tschechischen Journalistik und der bedeutendsten tschechischen Zeitung in den Revolutionsjahren 1848-1850. Unerbittlich, politisch aktiver Kritiker des österreichischen Regimes, Persönlichkeit mit einem grundsätzlichen Einfluss auf die tschechische öffentliche Meinung. Einer der bedeutendsten Tschechen unserer Geschichte.

Der Name Karel Havlíček Borovský (31.10.1821 - 29.7.1856) ist mit der Stadt Havlíčkův Brod untrennbar verbunden. Karel Havlíček wurde in dem nahen Dorf Borová bei der Stadt Přibyslav geboren, in die damalig genannte Stadt Německý Brod (Deutschbrod) ist die Havlíček Familie im Jahre 1832 umgezogen. Karel hat hier das klassische Gymnasium besucht und die Stadt ist zu seinem einzigen wahren Zuhause geworden, wohin er mehrmals aus seinen langen Auslandsaufenthalten zurückgekehrt ist. Das Vysočina Museum hat heute seinen Sitz im Havlíčeks Haus, mit einer Dauerausstellung, die dieser außergewöhnlichen Persönlichkeiten gewidmet ist.

Der Nachlass von KHB ist für ein kurzes menschliches Leben wirklich außerordentlich. Seine tapfere politische Aktivität in den Revolutionsjahren 1848-1849 ist bewundernswert und jeder, der wenigstens einen Text gelesen hat, wird verstehen, warum er von dem Kaisertum Österreich so gehasst wurde und warum sich das Regime ihn befürchtet hat. Mehr als drei Jahre hat er geschafft, sich den ihm „nach Maß“ angefertigten Regierungsanordnungen zu widersetzen. Als es ihm im Jahre 1850 verboten wurde, die erfolgreiche Národní noviny („Nationalzeitung“) herauszugeben, die er im Jahre 1848 selbst in Prag gegründet hat, ist er nicht zusammengebrochen und ist nach Kutná Hora (Kuttenberg) übergesiedelt. Hier hat er seine widersetzliche Aktivität ein weiteres Jahr in der neuen Zeitschrift Slovan fortgesetzt.

Ende des Jahres 1851, am Vorabend des kommenden Bachs Absolutismus, wurde er durch eine Gerichtsanordnung nach Brixen deportiert. Er sollte den Tschechen aus den Augen verschwinden, und die sollten ihn vergessen. Aber sie haben nicht vergessen. Seine Beerdigung ist im Jahre 1856 zu einer antiösterreichischen Demonstration geworden.

Er hat uns auch einen unvergesslichen Nachlass in seinem literarischen Werk hinterlassen. Epistel aus Kuttenberg (Epištoly kutnohorské), Bilder aus Russland (Obrazy z Rus), Tiroler Elegien (Tyrolské elegie), König Lavra (Král Lávra), Die Taufe des Heiligen Vladimir (Křest svatého Vladimíra). Sie kennen sie, nicht wahr? Ein bisschen schwierigere Texte für Schullesebücher, aber wir Erwachsenen sollten sie verstehen. Und Epigramme, die kurzen und scharfen Verse? Viele von ihnen haben auch heute etwas zu sagen. Zum Beispiel das bekannteste: "Moje barva červená a bílá, dědictví mé poctivosť a síla!" ("Meine Farbe ist rot und weiß, mein Erbe ist Ehrlichkeit und Kraft!“)..

Im Jahre 2021 feiern wir den 200. Jahrestag der Geburt von KHB und es werden zahlreiche Veranstaltungen zu diesem bedeutenden Datum in der Region von Havlíčkův Brod organisiert. Ich möchte zu den Feiern der Persönlichkeit von KHB, die ich unermesslich hochschätze, auch beitragen. Ich möchte Sie alle herzlich – sehr geehrte Geocachingöffentlichkeit – nach Havlíčkův Brod einladen, damit wir den 200. Geburtstag von Karel Havlíček zusammen feiern. Ich würde mir sehr wünschen, dass die Feier wirklich würdig ist, und dass es uns gelingt eine Geocachingveranstaltung zu organisieren, die in der Vysočina Region noch nicht stattgefunden hat.-)
