Come out and get a souvenir and an event!
I walked on this trail once to find a couple of caches and noticed that it was absolutely covered in trash. I brought with me only one grocery bag and easily filled it within minutes. I also noticed that only a few weeks before my journey, other cachers had done the same thing except with several bags worth. So I came up with the idea of doing a trail clean up event.
For this event we will meet at the Poirer Office Covered Bridge and after a few minutes (maybe 10-15 depending on if cachers know if other cachers are planning on showing up late or not) we will begin walking on the trail to pick up trash. Bring gloves (if you want, I'm not providing any) and garbage bags (I will be bring some as well). There are plenty of recyclables on the trail as well so if you want to bring separate bags to collect those for the deposit, feel free.
Besides the CITO, there are plenty of caches along this trail so feel free to grab some along the way. I would reccommend downloading the caches ahead of time as signal is spotty to non-existent here. Also remember to be cautious as this is a multi-use trail and many ATVs use it. Bring water and be prepared for whatever the weather may be.
Please remember to keep in mind social distancing rules for COVID-19 and feel free to wear masks if that makes you more comfortable but I will not require them.
