L’Église Notre Dame de Montaudin
Il a fallu neuf ans de construction afin d’ériger cette nouvelle église, bâti sur les fondations de la précédente, dans un style Néo-Roman. Complété en 1898.
It took nine years of construction to erect this new church, built on the foundations of the previous one, in a Neo-Roman style. Completed in 1898.
L'église abrite un vitrail de 1544 représentant l'Arbre de Jessé, qui proviendrait du manoir de la Futaie - seul vitrail de la Mayenne où ce thème est traité. L’Arbre de Jessé est une représentation dans l’art des ancêtres du Christ, montré dans un arbre qui s’élève de Jesse de Bethléem, le père du roi David, et est l’utilisation originale de l’arbre généalogique comme une représentation schématique d’une généalogie.
The church houses a stained glass window from 1544 depicting the Tree of Jessé, which is said to have come from Futaie Manor The only stained glass window in the Mayenne depicting this theme. The Tree of Jesse is a depiction in art of the ancestors of Christ, shown in a tree which rises from Jesse of Bethlehem, the father of King David and is the original use of the family tree as a schematic representation of a genealogy.
