Queremos com esta geocache mostrar uma linda escola do inicio do século XX, renovada recentemente e que continua a ser uma referência para a comunidade de Susão.
Este jardim de infância faz parte do Agrupamento de Escolas Vallis Longis situado na cidade de Valongo a 11 km do Porto.
Estamos num centro urbano, inserido na Área Metropolitana do Porto, sede do concelho com o mesmo nome, constituído pelas freguesias de Alfena, Campo, Ermesinde, Sobrado e Valongo.
Esta é a "terra do pão e da lousa", um vasto património natural. As serras de Valongo circundam o centro da cidade, contrastando com o desenvolvimento urbanístico que a caracteriza. As Serras de Santa Justa envolvem a paisagem da região e formam uma vasta mancha verde que constitui o "pulmão" da Área Metropolitana do Porto. Nestas serras podemos ainda encontrar variadíssimas espécies animais e vegetais, já raras nos dias de hoje. Além disso, nos confortes montanhosos, reside ainda uma rede de galerias subterrâneas, local de inúmeros achados arqueológicos.

With this geocache we want to show a beautiful school dating from the beginning of the XX century, recently renovated and which continues to be a reference for the community of Susão.
This kindergarten is part of the Vallis Longis School Group located in the city of Valongo, 11 km from Porto.
We are in an urban center, inserted in the Metropolitan Area of Porto, seat of the municipality with the same name, constituted by the parishes of Alfena, Campo, Ermesinde, Sobrado and Valongo.
This is the "land of bread and chalkboard", a vast natural heritage. The mountains of Valongo surround the city center, contrasting with the urban development that characterizes it. The Santa Justa Mountains surround the landscape of the region and form a vast green patch that constitutes the "lung" of the Porto Metropolitan Area. In these mountains we can still find a wide variety of animal and plant species, which are rare nowadays.
