The Dixon Mine Cache has been placed in close proximity to a mine that was historically the site of the Delaware Mining District. Ore mineralization has been found at this location and the size of the deposit is estimated to be small, however, the precise grade, tonnage, and extent of the mineralization are not known. There has been no production and little to no activity other than routine claim maintenance since the mineral discovery. The host rock in this area is rhyolite from the Pliocene epoch 5.33 to 2.58 million years ago. The only remains of this mine resemble that of a volcanic cave, but the effort required to get to this location will be well worth the reward! This cache is NOT inside the mine, but rather a little ways up the hill. (See clue for more info) Enjoy!
