Church Micro 5920...Kensington - St Mary Abbot Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: Hi There

As the owner has not responded to either my log or my colleague's previous log requesting that they check this cache I am archiving it.

Please note that once the cache has been archived, this can not be undone. This is explained in the Help Center - http://support.groundspeak.com//index.php?pg=kb.page&id=70

You will need to create a new listing, put it back in for review and as long as it meets today's guidelines and no other caches have been published in the area causing a proximity problem, then it will be published.

Regards

Geocache Description:

5ml tube

St Mary Abbot's, Kensington High Street

Church. Rebuilt 1869-1872 by Sir Gilbert Scott. Rubblestone, ashlar dressings. Geometrical style. Aisled nave, lower chancel, eastern tower topped by broach spire with double corner pinnacles and lucarnes. Vaulted entrance cloister, 1889-93 by Micklethwaite and Somers Clarke. Contains monuments and pulpit from former church. Good Victorian font. Includes railings to churchyard.

Personal Note - I like to create CMs at churches with which I have a personal connection or memory. Being a choral singer, many of these may be to do with singing. A church which is just too prominent on the Kensington skyline to forgo a CM.

The cache is NOT at the coordinates, but a war memorial is. Look at either side of the memorial to find the numbers required:

First number (need to convert from Roman numerals) on the right hand side of the memorial - AB

First number (need to convert from Roman numerals) on the left hand side of the memorial - CD

NEW AS OF 04/03/21

N51 30.BDA

W000 11.(B+D)(B+C+D)(C+D)

IF YOU SOLVED THIS MULTI PRIOR TO 04/03/21, AMEND YOUR NORTHINGS -0.007 AND WESTINGS -0.006

The cache is a short walk away, with a great view of the miraculous church steeple. Please replace as found!
