#Bastiony Gdańskie
„Relikty dawnych fortyfikacji Gdańska”. Są przykładem XVII - wiecznej sztuki militarnej i prezentują jeden z etapów rozwoju miejskich umocnień obronnych. Zachowany fragment tych fortyfikacji należy do nielicznych takich obiektów w Polsce. W latach 1622-1636 wzniesiono czternaście bastionów zamykających miasto od strony północnej, wschodniej i południowej. Były to bastiony typu staroholenderskiego, połączone ze sobą kurtynami i poprzedzone zygzakowatą linią podwójnej fosy wypełnionej wodą.
U schyłku XIX w. bastiony - wówczas już nieprzydatne i blokujące rozwój miasta - zaczęto rozbierać. Z powstałego w latach 1622-1636 północnego, wschodniego i południowego ciągu fortyfikacji gdańskich ocalało tylko pięć bastionów w ciągu południowym: Żubr, Wilk, Wyskok, Miś i Królik. W narożu południowego i zachodniego ciągu gdańskich fortyfikacji znajduje się jeszcze jeden ocalały: Bastion Św. Gertrudy.
Bastion Królik – Wzniesiony w latach 1631-1633, jest stosunkowo najgorzej zachowany. Na pocz. lat 20. XX w. przekształcono lewy bark i wał obiektu, a także część kurtyny przylegającej do bastionu od strony południowo-zachodniej. Wnętrze bastionu zabudowano. Zachował się mały szaniec na wprost kurtyny między bastionami Królik i Miś. Bastiony Wilk, Wyskok, Miś i Królik są dwupoziomowe, złożone z wału niskiego i wału wysokiego. Nie był skazamatowany.

W 1625 roku rozpoczęto budowę bastionu św. Jakuba i ciągu bastionów w kierunku Długich Ogrodów, przeciętych przez nowy obwód już w roku 1626.
W latach 1626–1627 prawdopodobnie zbudowano bastiony Lis (Fuchs), Ryś (Luchs) i Motława (Mottlau, zwany następnie bastionem Wiadrowników).
W latach 1627–1628 powstały bastiony Gniady Koń (Braun Ross), Jednorożec (Eichhorn), Lew (Löwe) i Wół (Ochs).

# Bastions of Gdańsk
“Relicts of former Gdańsk fortifications". They are example of the 17th century military art and present one of the stages of development of urban defensive fortifications. The preserved fragment of those fortifications is one of the few such facilities in Poland. In the years 1622-1636, fourteen bastions were raised closing the city from the north, east and south. They were Old Dutch type bastions, covered with curtains and preceded by a zigzag double line filled with water.
At the end of the 19th century, the bastions - then useless and blocking the town's development - began to be dismantled. Only five bastions survived from the northern, eastern and southern routes of Gdańsk fortifications formed in 1622-1636: Żubr, Wilk, Wyskok, Miś and Królik. In the southern and western corner of the Gdańsk fortifications there is another survivor: Bastion of St. Gertrude.
Królik (Rabbit) Bastion - Built in 1631-1633, it is relatively the worst preserved. During the early 1920s, the left flank and rampart were modified, as was a part of the curtain wall to the south-west, positioned adjacent to the bastion. A number of new structures were built inside the bastion. A small bulwark positioned in front of the curtain wall between the Królik and Miś bastions has survived to this day. The Wolf, Wyskok, Miś and Królik bastions are two-level, consisting of a low shaft and a high shaft. It wasn’t Casamated.

- In 1625, the construction of the bastion of St. Jacob and the bastions in the direction of the Długie Ogrody street cut through the new circuit as early as 1626.
- In the years 1626–1627, probably raise of Lis (Fuchs), Ryś (Luchs) and Motława (Mottlau, later called the Wiadrownik bastion)
- In the years 1627–1628 were created the bastions of Gniady Koń (Braun Ross), Jednorożec (Unicorn/ Eichhorn), Lew (Löwe) and Wół (Ochs).
