HCWHA Geotrail Refresh
May 29th, 2021 9:00-11:00
Washington Monument State Park - Fort Necessity Pavilion
Please join the Heart of the Civil War Heritige Area for a Community Celebration Event which will include the kickoff to the reboot of the Heart of the Civil War Geotrail. The event will take place at the Fort Necessity Pavilion at Washington Monument State Park and will last from 9AM - 11AM. Part of the refresh will include 5 new caches and an Adventure Lab that will take you through the three counties of the Heritage Area, Washington, Frederick, and Carroll County. A prize will be awarded to those who find the new caches. There are still Geocoins left for those who wish to complete the Geotrail which can be purchased at the Frederick Visitor Center with a completed passport.
Schedule of events will be forthcoming, as we are looking to have an interprative presentation by one of the Park Rangers on the Civil War. In addition, we will be raffling off some items. Please join us Memorial Day Weekend.
Even though we will be in a pavilion, we encourage you to bring your own chairs. We will not be serving food and drinks, but you are allowed to bring food and drinks for yourself. We will be abiding by the State of Maryland and Maryland State Parks COVID policy of social distancing and mask wearing at the time of the event. Updates to the policy will be made on this cache page. This event will occur rain or shine.
