le grison est un minerai formé dans le sol forestier a faible profondeur le silex sous l'effet du gel et du dégel se fractionne en morceaux de tailles variables .L'eau de pluie traverse l'humus et entraine le fer jusqu'à la couche d'argile contenant le silex .
Suivant les saisons ,l'argile se gorge d'eau ou se dessèche .Ce phénomène transforme le fer en un ciment qui soude les morceaux de silex entre eux.
