Geocache Description:

26 April 2020, 10:00 - 10:30

Over the last 50 years, Milton Keynes has developed an excellent reputation for Public Art development, with over 220 Public Artworks across the city.

"Public Art in Milton Keynes is about inviting the vision, creativity, and skills of artists, to engage people freely with the place, in a well-considered way."

A quick short meet to introduce you to one of MK's sometimes forgotten pieces of artwork. The usual chatter and socialising are encouraged.

When: Sunday 26th April 10:00 to 10:30

Where: Meet next to the artwork "Concrete Cows".

Who: Geocachers near and far, new and old, everyone is welcome!

Concrete Cows by Liz Leyh & Bill Billings (1978)

Icons of the new city, there are actually two sets of Concrete Cows. The set who call Bancroft Park home are the replica second set created by Bill Billings due to the original set, created by artist Liz Leyh with the community for the Milton Keynes Development Corporation, being quite delicate. The original herd can be found in their new home at MK Museum in Wolverton.
