Church Micro 13177...Bayswater - Our Lady
Many people walk past this relatively recent Catholic parish church daily. The church building itself was used by various Christian denominations since the mid 19th century, and the Catholic community has been here since 1950s. This area is visited by many tourists and the church is regularly frequented by worshippers from different parts of the world.
The striking feature of the church is its raised level. It sits at around a floor or so above Queensway street level. A mosaic of Our Lady being crowned Queen of Heaven by the risen Christ, denoted by a Mrs Catherine Weston, decorates the front.
The cache is a micro, situated near the church’s “postal address” on Inverness Place. You could still see the back of the church from there. But I would encourage you to pay the front (if not the inside) a stop to see this Church located firmly in the centre of the area. Indeed, the front is squeezed between two builders.
You will likely require tweezers to extract the log paper. A stretch could be required - but hopefully made a little easier, as the side street is a little quieter than the main street.
Optional: do you prefer urban churches or rural churches? If you wish, let us know in your find logs!
