Dawlish Warren CITO Spring Clean 2020 Cache In Trash Out Event

This cache has been archived.

big eddie: Hello everyone,
Due to the current Coronavirus situation, and the recent news from Groundspeak/Reviewers, we have had a conversation regarding our CITO, and decided we need to archive this event.

We are both still very willing to go ahead with this event, but we do have to think of others, and what is best for everyone, so we are doing what we believe is the right thing, by following current advice. Also the fact that the reviewers will probably end up archiving it anyway.

We left it until now to act upon it, as we believe it is possible to enjoy the CITO, whilst keeping distance from one another. Sadly this will now be out of our control... for everyone's benefit though.

Stay safe, big eddie & Jaynie15

Geocache Description:

03 May 2020, 11:00 - 13:00

Welcome to our Spring CITO 2020

Please come and join us for a beach clean with a difference. For a section of the clean up (which will be explained at the start), we have been asked to carry out a survey of the rubbish we collect, and feed this back in to a National survey of rubbish found in marine areas.

Please meet at the Visitor centre, where a briefing will take place, before moving off to the selected area, this will be beyond groyne 9

All equipment will be provided, but if you do have your own litter pickers and gloves, please bring them along.

With regret, where the rangers would like us to work, they have asked that NO dogs to be present (beyond groyne 9).

Between the main carpark and groyne 9, dogs MUST be on a lead.

The rangers have kindly given us exclusive use of a private "PADLOCKED" car park, during the event. Please use the car park sensibly, to allow as many cars as possible to use this carpark. Please re lock the gate after you have parked your car. Watch out for an annoucement closer to the event for the combination code.

There are toilets nearby, but once the event is underway, we will be going further away from them.

Thank you to the rangers of Dawlish Warren Nature Reserve for meeting with us and allowing this CITO to happen and Teignbridge District Council.
