Community Celebration Event at Southcenter, WA 

Join us in this Seattle town for a happy event as Geocachers all over the Geoworld also commemorate the 20th Anniversary of Geocaching at 20,200 events in 2020-2021-2022.

When:            Sunday December 19, 2021

                        11:00 am to 1:00 pm (11:00 to 13:00)

Where:           Famous Dave's BBQ Restaurant

                        17770 Southcenter Parkway

                        Tukwila, WA 98188

The indoor warm spacious Cabin Room (separate from other diners) has been reserved for Geocachers. All customers (which includes all Geocachers present whether purchasing or not) will need to comply with Local and State Covid-19 Guidelines which currently is to bring documentation of a negative Covid-19 test within the past 72 hours, or of vaccination. Also, masks must be worn except when actively eating or drinking.

If you are not ready for an indoor event, a door of the Cabin Room opens up to the outdoor sitting area where you may choose to be at.

For those who'd love to attend but are physically remote, we will have a 20-minutes Zoom from 12:00 noon to 12:20 pm PT. Zoom Meeting ID: 999 0204 8878 Passcode: CCE. Current HQ rules prevent you from e-logging an "Attended".

Physical event log, which is not required for events, will be available.

Who:               Everyone in the Community who wants to Celebrate together--Geocachers & Muggles

Wear:              Geo-wear would be wonderful, but whatever is comfortable for you is best

Why:                One Community celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Geocaching

Wish:               Yes, or maybe, party hats, cake with 20 candles

Winners:         First 20 registered Geocachers who have logged "Will Attend" (or was listed by another in description by Geo-name as will attend too; or in "Write Note" is okay) and who do attend, will receive at check-in a choice of either a Community Celebration travel tag, or a Community Celebration nano charm with clasp, or a Geo-Snow Globe Holiday travel tag.

Registered Geocachers (incl First 20s) may win a Community Celebration prize for one of 20 geo-contests and geo-drawings listed here. All may enter any or all, but limit of one prize each.

1. Best protective face mask or covering; or protective goggles; or protective gloves with Community Celebration theme.

2. Best Community Celebration design on paper, or on screen please include Geo-name(s).

3. Best Song Title with 20 in It Simply Select a Title; or Sing; or Play on your iphone/android; or Compose original - e.g., '20 Days & 20 Nights' by Elvis Presley; '20 Years & 2 Husbands Ago' by Lee Ann Womack; '20 Flight Rock' by Paul McCartney; '20 Years Ago' by Kenny Rogers; 'Highway 20 Ride' by Zac Brav Band; '20' by Robert Cray; '20 Years' by Civil Wars, etc. Your choice. Audience decision.

4. Highest number of Community Celebration Events (CCEs) attended Drawing, if a tie.

5. Completed AnnScout's "WA State COVID-19: The Firsts in the U.S." series (GC8WYV2, GC8WTCG, GC8WCFM, GC8WT9D, GC8WYTH, GC8WYVG).

Scout's Honor: your word is the only proof needed of eligibility for the below drawings.

6. Community Geo-Associations You were a member in 2020 of any geocaching state or regional association; 2 tickets if member of GoLI (Geocachers of Long Island).

7. Age 20 You were age 20, or 20x2, or 20x3, or 20x4, at any time in year 2020.

8. 20/20 Vision You had 20/20 vision (corrected ok) anytime in year 2020.

9. Hiking 20 You found 20 geocaches in 2020 by hiking; or you hiked 20 miles in 20 hours in 2020.

10. Riding 20 You found 20 geocaches in 2020 by riding (bike, e-bike, mountain bike, ATV, horse); or you rode 20 miles in 20 hours in 2020.

11. Aquatics 20 You found 20 geocaches in 2020 via water (swimming, wading, paddling, other boating); or you boated 20 miles in 20 hours in 2020.

12. Conservation 20 You volunteered 20 hours, or in 20 conservation service projects (CITO, or community-based, or NPS or other parks-based), either in 2020.

13. Non-streak 20 You did not geocache on at least 20 days in 2020; 2 tickets if your attempted streak was broken in 2020.

14. PAF 20 You PAF'd (i.e., phoned or texted or messaged or in-person) a geo-friend for help at least 20 times in year 2020; 2 tickets if you were the PAF.

15. Hider 20 You hid 20 geocaches (includes hosted events, or placed ALs, or placed Limited Virtuals, etc.) in year 2020.

16. Thanks 20 You wrote in your e-Logs words of thanks or appreciation to 20 geo-hiders, in year 2020.

17. Milestone 2020 You celebrated a personal anniversary, or a geo-milestone, in year 2020.

18. Count 20 You timed 20 seconds, or timed 20 minutes, or counted 20 items, or counted to 20 in any language or signal or code (e.g., English, Spanish, American Sign Language, semaphore, morse code, etc.) in year 2020; (note: it is likely you did, to solve, or attempt to solve, a puzzle).

19. 20 Miles You traveled 20 miles to get to this event (remember to include your pre-event diversions to find geocaches).

20. 20 Months You waited 20 months, or 20 months went by, since year 2020 to attend this CCE.

Parking is plentiful. Each person is responsible for paying his or her own meals and beverages. But it is not necessary to buy anything in order to attend this event and to participate in the festivities. Every registered geocacher gets a special Community Celebration e-souvenir just in 2021-2022 for attending community events:
