This war memorial is fitted to the outside wall of All Saints Church, Linthorpe Rd, Middlesbrough. Across the road, you can see the bells of the church, next to the fast food outlet. This memorial is a replacement after the original was stolen and damaged in 2007 by thieves. It was soon recovered from a nearby scrapyard, but a replacement was needed, and Lottery funding paid for the new plaque.
Gjers, Mills and Co were an ironworks, established in 1870, on what is now green fields on Riverside Park. The memorial is for those men from the works who died during WW1. The final location is N54 34.ABC W001 14.DEF, the numbers from the WW1 memorial
