The center of Honolua Bay is where the visitors come to snorkel. The north side of the bay with its cliffs and reliable surf break is where the locals come to ride.
The dirt road down to the cache area is usually passable by any vehicle. If the surf's up, you'll see lots of parked pickups and lots of locals with their boards. If the surf's not that great you may be able to park within 50' of the cache.
The cache itself is located a short way down a steep trail to the beach. If you're careful and the trail's not wet it should be easily navigable by most people. Surfers walk up and down it barefoot with their boards but we still gave it a 3* terrain rating for the steepness.
The cache is in a camo'd bison tube about 10' off the trail. We could have hidden a larger container but that's all we had with us. Due to the small size of the container and the large number of potential hiding spots, we've uploaded a photo of our GPS in the general area of the cache.
