Long before the Dick & Willie Trail was cut through here, I had extensive experience in these woods. As a kid, I played back here frequently. As a teen, several friends and I would drive down the narrow, rutted utlity road that, for a time, one could access from Country Club Drive. From this area, you have a nice view of the clubhouse at Forest Park Country Club, at least when the leaves aren't in full bloom. For most of my young life, I went swimming and played golf at Forest Park; in fact, my dad was the club president for a spell, back in the 1970s.
You are looking for an ammo can, hidden in traditional fashion. It's only a short bushwhack from the trail, so please take care not to give away the hide location to the muggles who pass frequently along the trail. Initial contents include one autographed copy each of my novels West Virginia: Lair of the Mothman (a geocaching novel!) and Michigan: The Dragon of Lake Superior. If you take one, please leave the other for the next finder to enjoy.
