Geocache Description:

For those of you who were unable to visit the original virtual cache, Barney Smith's Toilet Seat Museum, GCB6A8, this is your chance to see the collection that became the most favorited Virtual cache in America.

This free museum has the life work of Barney Smith, a retired plumber in San Antonio.  Barney created over 1,000 unique art pieces, each one on a toilet seat.  Barney was well known to Geocachers.  He was working on the 12th Geocaching toilet seat, when he passed away at the age of 98.  Geocachers had traveled to see him from all over the world, eager for the opportunity to sign whatever was the current Geocaching toilet seat.  Shortly before he died, his collection was enshrined in the museum here.  He was able to travel to Dallas to see his artwork's new home and cut the ribbon at the grand opening.  This second version will never be as enthralling as the first, where Barney could talk to you for hours and explain the theme behind each toilet seat.

Barney was one of a kind.  He had appeared on several TV shows to display and discuss his work.  However, the work that he left behind gives you a glimpse into the quirky, humorous, and beloved man that was Barney Smith. Local cacher, Crazy4horses, has agreed to maintain this cache for me.

Cache is available from 11 AM until midnight, daily.
