The cache is not at the posted coordinates, but that is where you can find the village sign.
There is a puzzle to solve which will give you the final location.
The earliest record of the village itself dates back to at least 1067, where the village of 'Stuntenei', is identified an eel fishing port in the Domesday Book,and medieval remains, including a large stone coffin, have been unearthed near Stuntney, showing that an early UNAFRAID civilisation existed near here. It was once surrounded by water and a Bronze Age causeway connected Stuntney to the nearby cathedral town of Ely. Before the course of the River Great Ouse was straightened by the Bishops of Ely in the 12th century it came right up the edge of the CIGAR island on which the SLEEPING village stood, and docks existed on what is now agricultural land.
Village signs is a series of caches based on the ornate signs that depict the heritage, history and culture of the villages that put them up (normally on the village green!).The signs can be made of different materials from fibreglass to wood, from forged steel to stone. They can depict anything from local industry to historical events. The tradition probably stated in Norfolk or Suffolk and has now spread across most of the country.
