Geocache Description:

03 November 2019, 14:00 - 17:00

Join us for the 10th annual celebration of time (and an extra hour of sleep) ... The Fallback Gathering!

Daylight Savings Time ends at 2:00 am on Sunday, November 3rd. To celebrate this occasion we are hosting a gathering of geocachers at Ada Park to enjoy doughnuts and cider, a raffle, and make new caches available.

In the past people have donated items to the raffle (which is a big help, thanks again!) If you are planning to bring items for the raffle, let us know so we can be sure to give credit.

The event will begin at 2:00 pm at the posted coordinates.

Please log a "will attend" with how many are in your party, so we can get an idea on how much cider & doughnuts to purchase

The event will take place at a covered pavilion (never can tell what weather will be like in November) so this event will go on regardless of what Michigan throws at us. Unlike previous years, the picnic tables will be stacked and unavailable. If you do not wish to stand, bring your own chair.

At a nearby brick-grill we will be cooking hot spiced cider.

There will be a table setup where you can sign the logbook, get a ticket for the raffle, and exchange trackables. A large playground right next to the pavilion is popular with the kids.

Tag Raffle
Bring your "signature tags" with you (ones that have your caching name on it). Drop them in the large bucket at the raffle ticket table. During the raffle drawings, we'll pull one tag out of the bin. Whoever's tag it is ... wins the entire bucket of tags! You can put as many in the bucket as you wish (to increase the odds) but it has to be your sig tag (so we know who wins).

Geocache Shared FTFs
We are going back to how we did it with the first Fallback Gathering in that everyone who attends the event and finds the caches the day of the event, can claim a shared-FTF. People seemed to like this plus it's easier to manage.

Some parts of the park can be muddy this time of year. If you would like to find all of the released geocaches plan to bring proper footwear for forest/mud/shallow water bushwacking. Only a few of the caches fit into this category.

And if you forget to move your clock backward, you'll be an hour early for the event!
